Resumen

Reducing and total sugars wete measured by Somogyi-Nelson method and individual sugars by gas chromatography in leaves and juice of lemon fruits (Verna variety) with and'without iron and manganese deficienqr. In both deficiencies, reducing sugar contents in leaves increase sharply, while not-reducing sugar are practically not affected. On the other hand, in the juice reducing and not-reducing sugar decrease notably. All individual sugars increase in deficient leaves, specially the xilose in iron deficiency. In the juice, all sugars decrease and very particularly glucose and fructose when the iron is deficient. In the leaves, the relationships among different sugars and elements studied, prourde data very significatives for the diagnostic of those deficiencies.
