Abstract

The inter and intrasexual relationships of the one spot bioform of Calliptamus barbarus Costa, 1836 were studied in captivity. Eleven behavioural units were established. Data point to an active male and a passive female behaviour during intersexual relationships. During intrasexual relationships both sexes act similarly, having tendency to space out. The results obtained were compared with those existing in the literature on three spots bioform of the same species. Although between the two bioforms there are some differences in the behaviour or in some of its elements, such as the sound produced, both use the same behavioural units in the same way.
