Abstract

This is the first one of a serie of papers which objetive is to characterize bryophyte spore of more important and representative taxa of the Briological lberican Flora. Some taxa of genus Grimmia Hedw. and Orthotrichum Hedw. are included at this paper: Grimmia decipiens (K.F. Schultz.) Lindb., G. laevigata (Brid.) Brid., G. orbicularis Bruch. ex Wils., G. ovalis (Hedw.) Sm., G. pulvinata (Hedw.) Sm. var. Africana (Hedw.) Hook., G. trichophylla Grev., Orthotrichum affine Brid., O. anomalum Hedw., O. cupulatum Brid., O. diaphanum Brid., O. pallens Bruch. ex Brid., O. Pumilum Sw., O. rupestre Schwaegr. var. franzonianum (De Not.) Vent. y O. striatum Hedw. For each one the spore dimensions are taken with optical microscope observations and are studied its shape and ornamentation with S.E.M.; size and ornamentation differences are signed.
