Abstract

The study of the benthic vegetation was realized on the Roque de Los Órganos, spectaculars cliffs situated in the N of the Gomera Island, with a small littoral platform only accessible by boat and subjected to a very violent surged that make them accessibles during sporadics fair weather; due to this ecological conditions, there is kept a littoral ecosistem that is being altered the slightest. This study of the benthic vegetation remarks the predominance of the grassing and incrustant comunities, as well as a general reduction on the size of the diferents species as an adpatation to the violence of the waves.
