Abstract

The basic biology of Podospora anserina ¡S well known, but the growth conditions for the production of a good mycelium suitable enough for the isolation of protoplasts have no been described hitherto. Furthermore, the rates cited in literature about vegetative growth, production and gerrnination of microconidia are very low. Prompted by these data we studied the growth in solid and liquid media, and the production and germination of microconidia, characterizing and improving different factors. As a conclusion we have elabored an schedule for the production of high amounts of juvenile mycelium at short term, adequate for the liberation of protoplasts.
