Abstract

In this paper we present a comparative study of the vascular flora growing on volcanic substrata and the one present on the non volcanic paleozoic soils of Campo de Calatrava (Ciudad Real). We study the data analysing the taxonomic groups, chorological areas and biotypes, and we conclude that no fundamental differences can be reported. We attribute this similarity to the fact that the volcanic areas are influenced by the nearly non-volcanic soils and the similar uses by man of both territories. The influence is inversely proportional to the size of the volcanic surface.
