Alimentary influence in the fertility of <em>Spodoptera frugiperda</em> (Smith, 1797) (Lepidoptera:Noctuidae) in artificial conditions

Abstract

The fertility of Spodoptera frugiperda, natural host of the parasitoide Telenomus sp. (Hymenoptera: Scelionidae) was studied, to ambient temperature with natural food. Breeding was carried out in the Centro de Reproducción de Entomófagos y Entomopatógenos of Camalote in the Camagüey province (Cuba), under handmade conditions. The longitude wide and weight pupal in the different treatments where golden purslane leaves were used during the whole larval development, golden purslane leaves until the third stage + corn leaves until the last one, leaves of corn during the whole larval development (control) and leaves of corn until the third stage + golden purslane leaves until the last one, as well as the fecundity of the mature females and it was found that this was influenced better by the treatment where corn was used during the whole larval state.
