Abstract

This document presents some reasons supporting the idea that agroecology is an environmental science, discusses the definition of agroecosystem as a subjet of study of agroecology and derivations of political discourse and social science behind this. It explores some self-analysis fields of agroecology and the connection of this science with other disciplines and branches of knowledge. Finally, explores some of the meanings of the interdiciscipline as methodological axis of agroecology.
