Author Biographies

Lourdes Cerezo

Lourdes Cerezo obtained her PhD in English Language Pedagogy in 2007 from the University of Murcia (Spain). Since 1996 she has been working in the Department of English Philology of the same university, where she teaches English language and applied linguistics courses, including second language assessment courses, both at undergraduate and graduate level. She has taught a number of training courses for teachers of English and Spanish as a foreign language both in Spain and in other countries. She has participated in several research projects carried out by the LACELL research group (based at the mentioned department) and, from 2010, she is coordinating the English Test in the Spanish University Admission Examination at the University of Murcia, where she is in charge of test design, implementation and scoring issues.

Marian Amengual

Marian Amengual currently holds the post of Associate Professor in the Department of Spanish, Modern and Classical Philology (English Philology) at the University of the Balearic Islands. Her research has been mainly in the area of testing. She has been coordinating the English Test in the Spanish University Admission Examination at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) since 2003. Her other main research area is the teaching of English as a foreign language. She has been the ‘Language Teaching’ Panel coordinator at AESLA (Spanish Association of Applied Linguistics) for two terms (i.e. six years) (2003-2008). She is also the current secretary of AEDEAN (Spanish Association of Anglo-American Studies), and member of the board of referees of the journals Revista de Docencia Universitaria (REDU), Revista Internacional de Didáctica de las Lenguas Extranjeras (Porta Linguarum) and Revista Electrónica de Lingüística Aplicada (Rael). She has published in national and international refereed journals on applied linguistics and education.
