A CHECK-LIST OF THE VERTEBRATE SPECIES (FISHES EXCLUDED) OF THE MURCIA (SOUTH-EAST SPAIN) REGION

Abstract

The shortage of reports on terrestrial vertebrates in Murcia Region as well as the importance, both basic and practical, of species catalogues, is commented. Three check-list (Amphibia and Reptilia. Aves, Mammalia) are given, with a result of 337 species of terrestrial vertebrates: 10 amphibians, 21 reptiles, 266 birds and 40 mammals. From each species, according to nowadays knowledge, its regional distribution and some ecological aspects are mentioned.
